Job Description Job Description Description: Basic Function: Sets-up and operates GMAW (MIG) equipment on mild steel,

aluminum and stainless according to blueprints and shop drawings. Responsibilities and Duties: # Reads work orders and

parts lists. # Works from blueprints given in work orders. # Demonstrated proficiency in welding. Determines material

type and thickness of weld wire to use. # Sets-up welding equipment per material type listed on work order. Welds

weldments per work order and blueprints. # Positions and clamps together components of fabricated metal products prior

to welding. # Uses basic power hand tools and grinders to clean up weld work e.g. de-burring, clean weld splatter. #
